You Can Do It!

This is wonderful counsel from The First Presidency:
"Our Heavenly Father created this beautiful earth, with all its abundance, for our benefit and use. His purpose is to provide for our needs as we walk in faith and obedience. He has lovingly commanded us to “prepare every needful thing” (see D&C 109:8) so that, should adversity come, we can care for ourselves and our neighbors and support bishops as they care for others.
"We encourage members world-wide to prepare for adversity in life by having a basic supply of food and water and some money in savings.
"We ask that you be wise as you store food and water and build your savings. Do not go to extremes; it is not prudent, for example, to go into debt to establish your food storage all at once. With careful planning, you can, over time, establish a home storage supply and a financial reserve."
—The First Presidency, All Is Safely Gathered In: Family Home Storage, Feb. 2007.

Prapare for the Days of Tribulation

I came across this wonderful article by President Ezra Taft Benson the other day. It's a stern, but loving reminder that we MUST be prepared.

The Three-Month Pantry

My friend Jen is truly a canning and preparedness expert and she's agreed to let me share some of her awesome food storage knowledge! Here's some great online info that she prepared about what to stock your pantry with, so that you're not always running to the store and can have reserves if you need them.

Plan and prepare!

L. Tom Perry said:
"Acquire and store a reserve of food and supplies that will sustain life. Obtain clothing and build a savings account on a sensible, well-planned basis that can serve well in times of emergency. As long as I can remember, we have been taught to prepare for the future and to obtain a year’s supply of necessities. I would guess that the years of plenty have almost universally caused us to set aside this counsel. I believe the time to disregard this counsel is over. With events in the world today, it must be considered with all seriousness" ("'If Ye Are Prepared Ye Shall Not Fear'" Ensign, Nov 1995, 35.)
